**** C S R A Group ****

Stan, I thought I was the LAST person that wasn't on FB. I just joined a bit ago just to hang out on Chicken Swap and HFCSRA.
Awww, I can't wait to hear about the new bunnies!

Busy, busy in the hatcher the last little bit. Had a group of eggs set the 8th and chicks hatched 29th/30th. Moved them out right away for Coturnix quail eggs set 15th hatching. Then whisked the quail right out for eggs set the 15th --- more chicks hatching this evening.

Hope you feel better soon Terri!

That's awsome. Mine should be 15 days away.

Keep us updated. Have you made a nest box yet? Also, does your cage/hutch have a baby saver, so the kits don't fall out? We didn't make our baby saver high enough last time and a couple of babies fell out.

We now have the baby saver made of plexiglass and it's 4 inches high.

Not yet. I will make it this weekend.

Good morning....

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather; unusually warm, even for Georgia. I've read it's been unseasonable warm across most of the country.

Made a run out to Bricko farms Saturday morning and picked up half a scoop of sand. A full scoop is too heavy for my little pickup truck. Still, one can't beat the price ($7.50 for half a scoop). Spent the rest of the morning hauling sand down to the runs/coops. The chickens had a great time playing in their new, clean sand.

We like the sand very much. It works great in the big girls coop too. Dries up the poop nicely, making it very easy to clean.

We haven't replaced it; just add to it periodically. Bricko Farms is right outside Beach Island coming from Augusta. They are the ones who developed "Compostost" and "KricketKrap" as well as selling nursery mix, top soil, and a wide variety of mulches.

A pickup truck scoop of the sand is $15; really can't beat that price.
