oh no. not 9 pounds. all but one were 10 pounds even, give or take an ounce.
the one that was almost 8 pounds was 2 weeks early!

i wish they could just sort of teleport out somehow.

I am a firm believer that a woman's body knows how to birth-sounds like you have had some large babies and turned out fine. Sometimes doctors/medwives (yes mEd) try to push a c-sec on you because they are fearful that a woman can not get a 9+lb baby out safely. This just isn't so. I've seen a tiny woman successfully birth a 13lb baby and many other average sized mamas have babies around the same weight. Listen to your instincts- you have received some great advise here. You're a vetran at birthing- go mama!

yeah, its ridiculous! my sister has 6 pounders..its not fair at all.
as for my instincts, they are telling me that i need some good pain medicine as soon as i get to the hospital.

Now..are you going to get an epidural?? where they stick that something in your spine to block the pain...

oh god yes. there is no way i would do it without one. i have been through labor without it and its a completely different story..i think the epidural was the best thing ever invented, for sure.
this time around, im going to take whatever they want to send my way!

I was totally against c-sections, but when my second son would not drop and was in distress with the placenta detaching, we had no choice. I recovered quicker than from my first, which I had natural, maybe it was just due to the drugs.

Good luck.

I had C-sec with both my kids. The first was not expected and I was sooooooo scared. It was concidered an emergency C-sec. I had been in labor for 14+ hours and only got to 5-6 and started to swell closed. I finaly said that I had had enough and wanted to C-sec and the DR agreed it was for the best. Earlier that day they had tried to give me an epadul and it took 15 pokes, 2 anistigialigests and 2 hours before they were to get one in and it only lasted about a half an hour. So they had to give me general anistetic for that birth.

With the second birth, everything went perfectly. It was a planned C-sec. But I ended up in labor 27 days early from my due date. But the spinal went great. One poke. Didn't even feel it. If I knew that births could be that great....I would have had them all that way.

Like I said. Perfect!

ok, i may be the odd one out, BUT i had to have abdominal surgery at 4 months pregnant and i had a c section at birth. i would do it in a heartbeat. i do have a high tolerance for pain, but i also had my baby 4 minutes after the c section vs how many hours of labor it takes you to push out the baby? the only pain med i had after was 1 dose after i came out of the o r and i was walking the next day. no kidding. yes, you are sore, but the more you get up and move the better you are. talk to your doctor. mine does not do c sections unless it is abosolutely the only way. my daughter was breech and almost 9 lbs. THANK YOU JESUS FOR C SECTIONS!
