Hi, we live east of Lodi, CA. Just a few miles south of Sacramento. I'm very excited about getting our first chicks, (pullets) today. We have a great mix of them, including 2 silkies. I think I need a brooder hen to adopt the silkies though, they are not adapting as well as the other chicks. I haven't had chicks since I was a young girl, especially without a brooding hen to take care of them, now it is me and daughter to be mommies for them. Wish us luck, we're trying to learn everything we can about caring for them and make sure we do everything right.
