CA people, I need your help!

My husband is in Lompoc, CA for work and needs to come home. What's the nearest Amtrak station with ticket office hours? The closest I can find is San Jose, is there anything closer to Lompoc? He can ride a bus from Santa Maria but the website says the pick up site is at the International House of Pancakes.... So, does he get on the bus and say "Hey, I need a ride to San Jose?" I need directions, please help! He will not fly, flying is not an option.

Why don't you call the Amtrack 800 number and ask them? (1-800-USA-RAIL)

Well, I'm just wondering if he can get on the bus there and say "to san jose" or does he need to somehow pay for the amtrak ticket before hand. This is all so confusing.

Here is some info that could help. My folks have used the Goleta Station a little to the south. There is no ticket office there and they bought the tickets online. You can also buy them on board sometimes. I think there is a station in Solvang, but service used to be limited to once a day each way, and no office. I'm not sure anymore. Good Luck.

My step son had to buy his ticket on the bus,as they had no place at the bus stop to buy tickets.
