There was one case I read about, of broccoli being a problem, when truckloads of it were given to cattle in a feed lot. I read the original report, but I don't remember all the details, as it's been quite awhile. Feed lot animals sometimes get huge amounts of a particular food all at once, because it's cheap. They also get fed some kind of nasty stuff sometimes, because it's cheap.

A lot of foods are really nutritious and safe as part of a balanced diet, but it's a problem to feed massive amounts to feed lot animals.
