CABBAGE?!?!?!?!?

I was recently reading "chickens" magazine by popular farming and they say cabbage is toxic to chickens!!! I have been feeding my girls cabbage since I started them on layer feed(almost a 2years now 1-2 heads a week or so) they LOVE IT eat it to the stem!!! I did once give them a red cabbage and they kicked it to the corner and wanted nothing to do w/ it. Has any one else ever head of this?!?!?!? I'm paranoid now

well I have given my five banty hen four heads and so far no troubles.

I have never heard that its toxic to them. I had leftover cabbage in my garden this past fall and when I opened my garden up for my hens to have what they wanted, they left the cabbage. They didn't want anything to do with it. Doesn't necessarily mean its toxic, just means I have picky chickens lol.

My chickens love cabbage. But, they will eat most anything. No accounting for taste.
