Got my surpise today, 51 chickens..1 doa . 2 broadbreasted white turkeys and 2 pekin ducks

I do the same thing. I put my waterer on a small piece of wood so it keeps the shavings dryer and keeps the shavings out if the waterer.

I am getting my cackle surprise this week. I used my refund from ideal to buy another cackle surprise for 3/25. I had a total box doa from ideal as well as the replacements so I just went to cackle instead.

Stats: 55 shipped/51 arrived alive, all chicks, no bantams.

I ended up keeping 25 (and sold the rest of Craig's list)
