Cackle shipments?

Got the chicks today. I have to admit NN's are smarter then BO's and Delawares. They went straight to the water and it took the Delawares and the BO's all of 3 hours to figure out the water. Even after i tried multiple times to show them it was water.

I may end up losing the NN cockerel though he acts weak and I really need that. However I noticed the Delawares and BO's seem to be lots more vocal. So am worrying about that big time. I will find out in a few hours if they don't quiet down any. Could also be from them not drinking the water, so I will give them a few hours.
do you have any nutridrench on hand? great for giving new shipping stressed chicks/birds a super boost. If not, then at least some electrolytes in the water might help your little roo as well as the others. Just a note. I always order hydrogel with my chicks for them to get into as soon as they arrive.

got my chicks wed morning, wrong chicks ordered red jungle fowl, got 15 chicks, one dead, two about to die,not red jungle fowl, these are orange on head and back yellow bottom and looks like white wings, dont know what there are, might be some batams, call them up,sent pic and no reply, paid a lot of money for this mix up,never again

Yeah I had some gatoraid mix that I had bought. I was told it has the same thing in it. Since they finally have figured out the water the Delawares and BO's are doing better. I am seeing the cockerel picking up a bit now as well. I still have one very vocal Delaware, normally the vocal ones are the ones that end up dying. Luckily they sent me an extra one. I am keeping my eye on them, and kids are watching them. I told them this weekend they can play with them more. Right now they need sleep and food and water.

Above,Delawares, BO's and 1 leghorn cockerel

All Naked necks.

ours all arrived alive, but in the first few days, several of the weaker chicks didnt make it. i believe we lost 6 or 7 total, but the ones that did survive seem to be doing very well now

I am glad I found this post! I ordered 16 chicks from Cackle last week and they are due to ship out next Wednesday. Now I know not to freak out if they tracking number says a crazy day.

really important,no matter who you get your chicks from to have at least save-a-chick but better, nutridrench on hand for their water when they arrive. It really can make a difference in the ability to thrive.

Now that they've actually had a little time to find out what happened and get back to you, what did they say???
