Cackling roo

I love hearing my hens cackle, even if they often seem to be making things up - "I sat in the nest box for a while, and then I felt like getting up, so I must have laid an egg, so BukBukB'gawk!!"

Often my roo starts cackling along with the hen(s) - does anyone else's roo do this? It gets pretty loud - and silly - when 2 hans and a roo are carrying on, particularly when there's no egg to be seen.

I love listening to the conversations between my roo and my/his hens. He talks to them all day long!

OH, yes, they talk and talk. Mostly Mr. Roo has this great baritone chuckling sound. What I really want to know about, though, is whether most roosters cackle, just as though they had just laid an egg! Just expressing solidarity with his girls? Or what?
