This spikes are nasty! I got poked quite a few times clearing the grass away yesterday, and by the end I was pretty mad at the cactus. I was just trying to help, after all!

I’m ashamed to say I have done nothing with the flattened ones since I told y’all about them…they’re just in a part of the yard I don’t go very often, and school has kept me so busy I haven’t thought about them much. BUT. I went out there a couple of days ago, and they’re miraculously standing upright! Not all the way, but much better than they were. And they’re not wrinkled and squishy anymore. The one still has some rusty colored stuff on it, but it looks much better than it did. It’s pouring rain out right now, or I’d get you some photos.
My little old lady cactus is clearly so much bigger than it was! And, this is probably very wishful thinking, but is this little pink thing a bud?? I know these guys normally have a ring of flowers, so it’s not very likely, but I poked it and it does seem attached, so maybe? I’m hopeful!

) The previously flattened cacti are super happy now, as is the other cactus in the same bed. I’m looking forward to cactus flowers!
