I have heard good things about hatching eggs from Cackle. Some of my pullets came from a woman who hatched a batch of eggs from Cackle and then sold the birds once they were old enough to sex and determine the breed. They were quite healthy and she recommended I try it down the line when I am ready to hatch some eggs myself.

You are going to be paying way too much money for shipped eggs, especially if you are new to incubation.

Incubation is an exacting science, with a learning curve. Best to practice on local eggs and develop your technique before spending money on shipped eggs which are known to have dismal success rates.

Some health food stores do sell fertile eggs, but it will be clearly marked on the carton. And, FWIW, those health food store eggs that are marked "fertile" may be fertile in name only. Many eggs are sold as "fertile" b/c there is the assumption that if eggs are fertile, they come from a farm where the birds are free range. In actuality, the eggs may be "fertile" b/c there is a token rooster running around in a grossly overpopulated run/coop set up, where he is a single roo with 200 hens!
