@Miss Lydia are you putting this in their drinking water or food? My girls have slowed down but are now trying to pick back up their egg production. I have had a few thinner and/or softer shells and have found the random broken one in the house (which they ate). I saw you mentioned this stuff so I ordered it but want to give to them properly so they get the full effect. I have them on layer pellets and always have oyster shell available. Yesterday I had a total of 5 eggs but 1 busted while I was wiping it off and I found a nice warm busted egg just before bedtime in the duck run by the pools. I only have 4 girls so someone laid 2. This morning I found a busted one in the house that they had eaten on and one perfect egg buried in the shavings. I read somewhere they can have milk sometimes too. I only have organic 2%, is that ok to give them?

I believe poultry are lactose intolerant so no milk. I haven’t use the calciboost yet since I haven’t had need too. But it said either way so maybe try mixing it into their feed if they eat all you put out that way you’ll know they are getting proper amount, putting it in their water if they are like mine a lot is going to be wasted. I think next time I need to give calcium I’ll just get calcium citrate. Works just as well and less expensive.

Ok so no milk then. I will get some calcium citrate this weekend when I trek into town. I put in their water but like you said a lot is wasted. I think I will feed the girls a little food with some on their food. They are little piggies first thing in the morning. My runners are turning one year old next Tuesday!

I used the calcium citrate. Got the 600 mg pills at walmart only because they didn't have the capsules. I ground them up in my coffee bean grinder. Took 2 seconds and then sprinkled them on their treat basin of cut up tomatoes. I used 2 pills for 6 girls. Did it for about a week and it worked great! no more problems.

Aww grown up. Now have you decided what breed your ordering?
Lord NOOOO!! and I need to hurry so I can get them on time. I have been so stressed out lately. I was sick for 2 weeks and then spent 8 days in Dallas and am just now settling back in at home. I am all over the place. For some reason I want to get all kinds of different ducks. I figure I can get some each year as we grow our duck empire! My husband looks at me like I am completely insane but says he likes to see my happy with them. Chuck and Buck @SuperDuck made him want Pekins. I know @Jpat is a fan as well. I am only getting 3 ducklings so I am wondering if I can order more than one kind as long as my total is good. I am so new to this and I know that I will pay a boat load in shipping for 3 little ones but I am ok with that. I just don't want to do like I did last year with these guys, I got them too early for us. They had outgrown the brooder and it was way too cold for them to go outside. I will remind you that I am tiny house living so there was that...........
I think I just need someone to make this decision for me. I will definitely end up with more runners just because they are awesome but not this year. Unless I change my dang mind again.

I love the coffee grinder idea and sprinkling over some treats. Does this also have the Vitamin D3 or am I supposed to get that seperate? Or at all? I am just trying to do right by my girls. They have made so many people happy with their beautiful eggs.

I think you can order what ever breed you want too. I know what your saying about shipping my 3 that are coming cost a fortune but no way I can even think about that with the joy they bring. I believe the cal citrate has d3 in it.

I just had to go look and no it does not have D3 in it. I didn't know they were supposed to have that!
