Hi there, I have a silkie who came into laying a couple months ago. She has always had perfect eggs up until a couple weeks ago, then i started noticing bumps on the "pointy" parts of her eggs which i assumed were calcium deposits. I figured it was "fine" and "something that just happens" but her eggs everyday now for the last 2 weeks have a lot of calcium deposits.... and in the last 4 days she has layed 2 eggs which the shell is not "fully" formed on the pointy part. It is as if you can see the yolk through the top of the egg. It looks like a mountain caving in.... but the yolk does not run out of the egg. I tried to take some photos but my camera died. Please help if this sounds familiar. Again, this is not JUST calcium build up... it is that accompanied by an occasionally not fully formed shell where the deposits are taking place. thanks so much.
