Isn't it great when one's job also provides things useful in other areas? I mean, getting CaCO3 from the job! I had a business for nearly 30-years, where there were a lot of chemicals used in manufacture, too. It gave me no end of joy to bring home a small bottle of castor oil (taken from a 55-gallon drum), or some very strong ammonia (26 degree baume=very concentrated) to add to my cleaning solutions, and many other examples. Not only that, but Diggin Chicken is also growing his own cabbage and carrots! Yeah!
All of my ducks love cabbage as much as lettuce, and I feel (I don't know why) that cabbage might have more nutrition than lettuce. It is a blast to see them tearing into some food they love.

... and just incase please never get confused and feed chickens cacl2 ... you may end up with chicken jerky real fast !
