Calcium for chickies

Are you referring to laying hens? (Because nobody else needs extra calcium)
I have oyster shell set out, though they prefer dried crushed eggshells when I have that available. If I suspect one is having laying issues I give them 1/2 of MY calcium supplement pills (Standard Process Calcium Lactate).

Thank you, everyone :D By the time I realized Hubby had filled the container with scratch grain and not layer feed, the girls were laying soft shelled eggs and eating every one. =( I crushed half a vitamin and put it in their water and, by gosh, the little rats wouldn't touch it. Crushed the other half and mixed it into their favorite snack, warm oatmeal. Not so much as a bite! ;)

A vitamin pill wouldn't likely add any calcium. It will make up for some of the vitamins missing in the scratch.
When you said chickies in the opening, I envisioned chicks, not laying pullets or hens.
If you only have layers, layer feed with a container of oyster shell on the side is your best bet.
And don't replace the feed with scratch :gig
