Thanks for all the support and kind words. They are very appreciated.
I now have to concentrate on Lucy and trying to keep here healthy. She still has a cough and it scares me but otherwise she seems quite normal. I pray that she will grow to be a happy cow.
If it ever comes to this again you can take a pin knife ( long skinny blade ) and stab the area I used to watch my uncle do this when My grandparents owned a feedlot. The first time I was about 11 and some jerk that was working for us used a electric prod to wedge an obviously bloated cow into the squeeze chute I told him to hold off while I went for uncle he refused. After my uncle saved the cow I told him what happened the guy said he did not have to listen to some kid, and lost his job on the spot. I normally did not work the main pens but stayed in the hospital pens, but had to fill in for this guy until my grandfather hired someone new.
Quote: PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT ...By far, one of the "must haves" while caring for young calf's/goats. Even if you have never had a case of bloat, get that medicine! Bloat can happen very quickly
and sometimes the vet cannot get there in time. Educate yourself and it could save you alot of heartbreak down the road.

I gave her vegetable oil twice without effect.
Sorry for your loss. In my opinion, the tubing is the fastest and most effective way of relieving the gas. I've always had good luck tubing and using oil (mineral oil) afterwards. Sometimes tubing several times is necessary.
