OK I bought two Acurite thermometer/hygrometer combos. This model, the only one I could get local, will read outdoor temp, indoor temp & humidity. I read I should calibrate them, put about 1/4 c salt and about 1/2 teaspoon of water in a baggy and left overnight. They both read 59% this morning. I thought that was too far off 75% so came back and read some more. Now I read to use 1/2 c salt and 1/4 c water so I do that, way to wet, extra water in the bowl so adding a little more salt, still pretty liquid tho.
Put them all in the bag; two hours later only up to 49%. Am I doing something wrong? could both of these be reading this far off or could this be right? should I leave them in longer and see what happens later? It is only about 56F in here right now. Both are reading the temp dead on compared to good mercury thermometer
