What a great way to get you to fall in love with chickens! Good luck on your adventure. I thought the end of the story was that the neighbors would just tell you to keep the chickens. But new babies will be more fun. Welcome!

Oh my goodness, I laughed so hard when you said you threw away the green eggs, then I wanted to cry because green ones are so awesome! Actually, they all taste the same... but they're absolutely vital in my wish for a rainbow of egg colors.

Why not go for a few Easter/Olive Eggers and maybe some Copper Marans in your hatching mix? The largest eggs pictured above were from my Buff Orpington.
