First off...WELCOME to BYC! I live 16miles from ya in Hacienda Heights. I know that there are a few people up near you.
Any ideas what breeds you looking to get into or are you going to play mix and match?
There are always people on BYC that have eggs/chicks to sell so you can always start yer looking here......

So happy to see Southern California doing its part for the chicken population. I'm in Long Beach and we just have the two girls..... a Barred Plymouth Rock and Black Sex-link. Both spoiled rotten, but as far as I'm concerned, that's the best way to have them. Waiting for LB to change it's laws so hubby will let me have two more. I just am enjoying them so dearly. Love the eggs, love feeding them the yummy treats, and the best is gardening with them in the yard. Always underfoot.

I used to live in N. Long beach on Orange and 53rd and had chickens and rabbits. But that was like 40 years ago. I went to Jordan high.

Hi all! Been a lurker for a while but finally joined BYC today because today I started working on my new coop!!!! So EXCITED!

I'm in beautiful downtown Burbank, just a block from the old Johnny Carson studio at NBC. I'll probably be ordering my chicks in March! Looking forward to any meetups.
