California-Southern

I have some interesting Pullets (ayam cemani x leghorn/trader Joe ) Need good homes asap. They are white with black spots. Their mothers are phenomenal layers. They are $15 each and are 12- 16 weeks old so should be laying eggs soon.
I am so sad that I can't keep them, but I am moving. I keep a totally closed flock so no diseases BUT they are also not vaccinated.
Also need to disband the ayam cemani flock :(

Hi folks-

I'm in Woodland Hills and I'm very, very new to this. I just got a Cream Legbar, a Double-laced Barnvelder and a Partridge Plymouth Rock last week. 6-week old chicks who have settled in nicely.

I'm fascinated with them and spend so much time out in their run that I'm not getting much else done anymore.

It will be months before we have any eggs but I'm delighted with just chickens being chickens so far.

Wow. Some great breeds there.

And yes, they ARE fascinating. Congrats getting started and if you have any questions, BYC is a good place to start!

If you're still looking for some pullets, I have narrowed it down to which ones I'm keeping and have a Black Australorp, Partridge Rock, Salmon Favorelle, and a Blue Copper Marans (6 1/2 weeks old) that I'm selling.
How much for the marans and the favorelle?

Yes! The Barnvelder, Eggsperanza is already a very handsome bird. Love her coloring!

Poor Prudence the Plymouth Rock is already molting and looks like a pretty awkward teen. She's also the smallest of the lot. But she's spunky.

And Lavinia the Legbar has lovely soft warm grey and camel coloring. She also has a little Mohawk topknot behind her comb. I'm just waiting to see how that develops as she matures. She's the middle-weight but also the leader of the pack.

Hi all, I have a 3 Brinseas. 2 are spot on for temps. Great hatches. The newest, a Brinsea 20 is off by about 3 degrees. Does anyone know where I can take it to get it calibrated? I don't want to do it myself.

Thanks!

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I live in Southern San Luis Obispo County and my neighbor and I have been getting our birds from Dare to Dreams Farms in Lompoc. We have seen a little mortality then I would like to see, so I was looking for another farm to get my starter pullets from.
I find just a few people sell extra birds on Craigslist. Can anyone recommend a breeder is this area. I am looking for standard breeds such as RI, BR or EE's.
Thanks.

I lost two from Dare 2 Dream after they started laying. Had a necropsy performed on one but nothing conclusive was found. Can't beat having the birds delivered but now a bit wary.

I'd ask around on this list. All are helpful and can point you in the right (local) direction.
