Getting tired of this So Calif humidity! Now there's a warehouse fire in L.A. blowing its putrid smoke into our San Gabriel Mountains - 125+ firefighters have to let it burn cuz they can't get inside to fight smoldering contents stacked ceiling to floor on both first and 2nd floors of the old old warehouse! Amazing how oblivious our hens are to all this -- just happy to be foraging and chasing tasty bugs!

Hi everyone, I live in Agoura Hills and I have three cockerels that I must re-home as soon as possible. I’d love to give them all to one person, but would be willing to give one or more to different folks if necessary. They are all very mild-mannered. Here are some photos. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m in North Hollywood and I have 2 male and 2 female 55 Flowery Hen chicks to give away, asking for $10 for each. They hatched 9/21 and are out under a broody hen eatin Kalmbach medicated chick starter (for safety bc’s they are out with the flock)

The parents are from Greenfire Farms. Ideally looking for someone who wants a male along with a female. Rooster and a couple of the 55 hens in pic

Hello! We are in Carlsbad, CA and are thinking about getting some serama chickens. We are looking for people who would like to help take care of them when we travel. We normally travel in the summers but sometimes travel for holidays as well. If you live nearby and also sometimes travel, we would love to reciprocate by helping to take care of your chickens while you are away from home. Please reach out if you’re interested!

@chfriedmam It's the pits having to re-home. We've done it thrice in a dozen years cuz we aren't zoned for roos. And now none of those rescues are around any more. Roos seem to wind up on other people's dinner tables which is why we don't hatch eggs cuz there's nowhere closeby to re-home the males

Ya, I personally am ok with the life cycle of roosters. To me they are farm animals

@TwoCrows I LOVE Crows! Our neighborhood murder soars overhead and chases off the Cooper's Hawks (chicken hawks) in our area. Had one dumb juvenile hawk knock himself out smashing/flying into the side of our coop kennel - wish I had a camera then! Anyway, LOVE our Crows -- they sit on the overhead power poles, watch our hens but never come into the yard to bother our girls or eat their feed! LOVE the Crows but hate the mooching House Sparrows!

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Crows! Delightful birds they are, I've always had a thing for them since I was a little girl. They have always fascinated me with their intelligence and social groupings. Keep on enjoying those Crows!
