How did you get a roo if you aren't zoned for one? We got 2 accidental cockerels & luckily had a rescue farm friend in another county... but they moved their operation to Nevada☹️ Now we only get auto-sexing breeds or DNA-sexed chicks so we don't get surprises any more. I always wanted to keep a roo but we're only zoned for 5 hens/no roo's.

It was an accidental rooster. We got a few chicks last spring and thought they were all females, but we were wrong.
 
I have an approximately 6 month old cockerel/roo that I need to rehome. He was supposed to be a Blue Copper Marans pullet but started doing the roo call last week. Handsome boy that is quite docile. Any interest? I'm in Westminster, CA.

BTW, he has been in an outdoor run since August 2025. I brought him inside last week.
