I was up until after 5am abd somewhere around 4 I pulled something in my back. Now I'm hunched over and the pain between my should blades is horrible. I slept on the floor hoping it would go back in place, but all it did was give me one more thing I couldn't do, like get up off the floor. Man was that painful.


Trying to figure out how I'm going to make it out back to take care of animals.

OK so much for sitting here until I can move, I have to get things back in place. Ouch!

Yesterday's absolutely GLORIOUS thunderstorm and rain has made my flock very happy today as they forage for bugs n' stuff. However, last night it took 'em by surprise and some of them sheltered and didn't make it into the coop. I got home late from a visit with HHandbasket and Farmer Lew, and had to carry six birds from my porch to the coop.

But what a nice, cool, fresh smelling day it is, after the rain.

Oh KIM! I feel for ya! If I lived close I'd go take care of the critters for ya. So sorry you hurt sooo bad. I know exactly how that is! Spinal fusion has taken care of a lot of that for me though.

Yes it does smell nice after yesterday's rain Linda! I think folks thought I was nuts when I kept rolling my window down to smell the bacteria, that give off that wonderful scent that I love sooo much, when it first starts to rain!

Took 2 hours to tske care of feeding and watering the chickens and quail. I haven't started on the rabbits yet and it's hot.

Somehow my water bucket cracked in the grow out pen with the older birds. I had to search for something to put water in until I can drive to HD for a bucket. I actuallly have some really big bucket type thingies in the garage, but I don't know what was stored in them and I could move anything to get to them while I was out there. I need to see if there are labels and ask on here to see if they'll be save to use. I think they're 10 gallon. I want to use them with nipple waterers.

I had to move my Sutramas into a cage for now, because they are a little shorter than 2 others I needed to pen together. Thought I could take pics, but after cornering them and bending to pick them up I couldn't move my arm in a position to get a good pic, so I erased them. Need to see if my suspitions are right and instead of getting a breeding trio I think I may have a trio of roos. Would be just my luck!

I love how it smells after it rains. And before it rains Bill and I would always say how we could smell it coming and people thought we were crazy. LOL Our dinky sprinkle did nothing. Grass wasn't even damp. I was kind of hoping we'd get enough to clear the air and keep the dust down for an hour or two.

Geez, took me 28 minutes to type this. More Excedrine is needed.

I have a big hatch of quail coming up so if anyone is interested in quail let me know.

I also have 8 here that are almost 2 weeks old.

We need a show and group or meetup section on the first post. If anyone has something here in California please let me know with maybe a link attached so it's easier to find all the information.
