Kim,
I am way behind on wrapping to but still doing chicken crafts. I have been gifting the chicken earrings as fast as I can get them made. I need to make a list......LOL. I am having Kauhla in my coffee right now...just alittle to sweeten my coffee up & warm me up. I stoked the fire when I got upan hour ago but it burns down quick. My husband stays busy splitting wood to keep me warm.....LOL
I have 3 aprons to finish & have been collecting chicken fabrics for more. I crocheted a royal purple scarf & hat for a chicken lovin' friend last night when I was down for the night after dinner. I spend my last hours of each day in my recliner with my feet up.............boy, I must be getting old!!!!!! but I try to get alot done while I am sitting there.
Well, I am off to the beadroom. I have more sets of chicken bead earrings to make & some feathers to make into earrings too. I do half as much as I used to & it takes twice the time.....LOL
BTW Kim Cheryl is looking for someone from around here that is going her way soon. She needs chickens transported. Does that qualify for your egg train or are you still doing that???

I know! I know! I'm pretty sure I have it narrowed down to three or four possibles that means I can get rid of at least 12.
I too am overrun with cockerels. I am afraid to count them there must be at least a couple of dozen free ranging plus what I am keeping penned but now that I am using the feathers I don't feel quite so bad. The birds can be soup or chicken & dumplings & the feathers can be earrings & ornaments............LOL

Sorry for your loss Kim.My BCM flockmaster is aging too but I have my eye on 2 or 3 coming up looking pretty good to replace him. I will need them because I have alot more BCM this year than ever before. I am selling of the non SOP for dark egg layers just haven't had the time & help to separate them out. I have agiy in Delhi waiting for 3 & he keeps calling. My son is staying in Ripon now with his girlfriend. Her cancer is back & she is in chemo & feeling bad. Hopefully he is a comfort for her. Anyone that believes please pray for her. She is such a sweetie & we are all reeling in the helplessness of this. Gotta go..................
We suffered a huge loss this week. Our rooster "Barred" died. To make a long story short I took him to the lab in Turlock and he died because of "abnormal amounts of fiber in his crop that was not processing". He said it was "green grass and stuff like that". I wormed them just because it was time (I did not see any worms in the stool) but after I wormed he died within 18 hours. He did have some parasites but the guy said he only found a few. They are still running some tests but his crop was what killed him. We are so sad.

He is certainly not looking or acting like a sick bird in that video. Sorry!
Walt
I know, that was taken on Saturday and he died Monday. He was 100% fine until I wormed him and then died within 18 hours. Huge loss for our family. He was just a feed store bird but had amazing personailty. He will be missed.
