CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

I saw you posted about that on another thread. I would love to see a couple pics of that setup!
In my case it is not the power going off that was the problem. The power came right back on. It is this stupid thermostat of mine. It was way out of calibration and it only allowed me to calibrate it 5 degrees so it is still off by 10 degrees! This isn't a problem until it powers back on and resets itself.

In fact it wouldn't have been a problem then if I had been home to catch it. However I had a doctors appt. and when I came home and saw that the stove clock was blinking I flew to the bator and it was at 110!

I assumed they were all gone but left them in anyway. This was on day five I believe. I don't have a water weasel so had no idea what the egg temp had gotten up to or how long the temps had been so high. I didn't post about it cause I didn't want to put a negative energy out there. I candled on day 11 and a few were no starters and a few more had blood rings or spots. At lockdown a couple more were no goes but 12 made it to lockdown! I have no idea how healthy they are but they did keep developing and 3 are pipping. I guess they are tougher than we think.

My Daughter that works at Michaels laughed when she found out I bought a Water Weasel from Amazon.com. She says they have them at Michaels. I did get the Brinsea spot check from Brinsea. There is a 10% discount on stuff from there. Check the Mahonri Easter Hatchalong for the code word.

The other Thermometer I got from Incubator Warehouse has a high and low memory on it, so you can see how high the temp got while you were away. That's pretty cool. It will also tell you how stable the incubator temperature is.

I will post pictures tonight.

I will! The good news is the bator has been holding perfect temps since then so your eggs are fine. I will be candeling them on Saturday (day 10).

Yes I have the Brinsea Spot Check thermometer too. It works great! I will be buying a new thermostat from them as well shortly. The 10% off code is SPRING. Wish I'd known that before I ordered my new bator.

Ok, here are the pictures of the Genesis on Battery Power.

The Adapter is clamped to the battery. The Charger is clamped to the top of the terminals

The cable plugs into an adapter and then into connector that goes to the Genesis 1588.

It is all working! It should run on battery from 36 to 48 hours.

Thanks for the pics Ron. Cool set up.

I want to go to Ventura! It's only a 12 hour drive or so! Seriously, that would be a blast.

OK there are 2 out now. 1 OE and 1 BC marans, another OE is completely zipped and will most likely be out by the time I'm done typing and 2 yokohamas are halfway zipped. There has been no further activity from the first little Yokohama that pipped. The zipped ones are 2 new eggs.

Oops, correction 1 Yokohama is out. And it's a yellow baby. Sure hope the other one makes it out to keep this one company! Yawwwwn... Now that all my animals are fed and watered I'm gonna try to get another hour of sleep before my day starts in earnest.
