Wow I'm starting to think my 1,600 square foot pen for my marans and my 2,500 square foot pen for the polish, ams and Kims lavender egg birds is way over kill! So now I'm wondering if I can just split those 2 runs in half and put another coop on the other side of each? 2 more coops within the fencing that is already up would be great!!!

That sounds like a little slice of heaven to me!!! You must have some happy birds with that much space!

Welcome, I have a good friend that was raised in Dos Palos & worked at the school there for years.She still has lots of family there. She is NOT a chicken friend though......LOL. Her son now lives there in the house where she was raised. I have been there several times with her. It seems to be a nice little town. I love small town living.

Must have been a night for enchiladas! That's what I made last night. Sunny, I add a can of Cream of Mushroom to the large canned enchilada sauce. Even the mild can get a little nippy for my husband. I like hot but him, not so much.

Just got back from dropping 10 more free loader off to the auction. A little less feed will help.....LOL. Slow but sure I am cutting back. I dropped off a Blue AM to Kim while I was nearby. Taylor if you read this she said she still has the Bev Davis BCM rooster I brought back from the Stockton Show. It was the other one that got killed.
I am going to let go of some of the BCMs I held back for breeders now that I have plenty so I will put another Craigslist ad on. The Black Minorcas are going too. I will be replacing them with the Mottled Javas. They have to be better layers, but I want one more white egg layer.......Hmmmmmmmmmm?????? Large Fowl Dual Purpose....Big birds that lay nice white eggs??????? Any suggestions?????
I have alot of babies & have started to slow down the hatching some. Maybe by the time I am too old to move I will get this all figured out.....LOL

and the California thread! I'll add you to the first post. I found Dos Palos 25 yrs ago. All but one of my many Rotties was from Germany, my first one. Her breeder was in Dos Palos. I never think of Fresno, but Los Banos when I think of Dos Palos.


I have my new roo from Karen. Poor guy is still in the box in the kitchen. I'm going on in a sec to put him up and then tonight I'm catching the black one. He needs to either be an only roo or lunch! So upset that he suddenly changed. Also upset because we had Games that run all over the neighborhood and although there's been a few scuffles I've never seen anything like what he did to my FBCM. He went from a lap bird to a terror when the hens are out and I have a lot of roos that do just fine together. I actually wish it had been the other way around and Harley was still here. OK I'm going to add Ron's name so I don't forget and get this guy taken care of since he just started to get the box bumping around. He heards egg songs so knows there are girls out there I think. LOL

Doing some cleaning. I bought Oxine a few months ago and it came with a free container of Citric Acid. I'm not going to use it and don't want to just throw it away and can't think of another use for it. Does anyone here use it? I'll give it to anyone who needs it.
