PERFECT!

I used to love the rain. I was much younger then. haha

Everything is wet here. And windy!

I find a ton of things, but can't get them home in my car.

Very frustrating.

Jules do you still have that roo you hatched out? I wanted to see what the older ones looked like.

Yay!!! That's a heck of a find. They are ridiculously expensive in the stores and winter is getting here faster than I can cut wood to build one.

OK, I've been complaining about the cold and the rain and now... SNOW!!! I kid you not. Yesterday I headed into town to do some errands and what do my disbelieving eyes see? That's right, snow! There is snow flying at my windshield. I look to my right and left but there is no accumulation on the ground so I console myself with the fact that it's not sticking. Well 10 minutes later I am horrified to see that it is now sticking and turning the sagebrush a lovely grey color. Well at least it didn't get a thick enough layer down to be white.

I need 3 more weeks of decent weather! I have a coop and a shed to put back up and I desperately need to have a garage sale!

Ain't that the way it goes?

BTW, hi down there in Atwater! I live in Somerset now, but I'm originally from Merdead... er, I mean, Merced. LOL. Had relatives all over Merced & Atwater & Livingston when I was growing up. Most of my family is still in Merced.

Are backyard chickens allowed in Atwater? My sister lives in Merced and can legally have up to 2 laying hens in her back yard.

Did anyone see the Huel Houser, California Gold show a few days ago where he was in a field of Marigolds that was strictly grown for commercial chicken feed to enhance the color of the yolk? I though that was pretty interesting.

That must have been interesting. BTW.......I forget if Marigolds have a season. I'm working on a kind of green house setup this year with raised beds. If the Marigolds loom without the plastic I could add those somewhere. Trying to be able to afford all my animals with no eggs, chicks or kits to sell during the winter.

Sounds good to me!

I'd never make it there.

Pam, no I never saw the show. Do they really do that to add color? Then why are commercial eggs still so pale compared to free range? Sad.
