I shared Sarah's ppost on FB. I sure hope they find them and they are safe.

The weather report says 40% chance right now but the low for Friday night is forecasted at 31, so I'm thinking if we left early in the morning it would be above freezing by the time we hit the pass. Maybe we could avoid any ice on the roads. We would have to leave the show by early afternoon though because the worst of the snow is supposed to hit that evening and driving at night in the snow really terrifies me. Well actually the other cars screaming up behind me, going way too fast, is what terrifies me. We are still torn about whether to go or not since we would not have enough to time to see very much.

This is Karen's son, Michael Anderson.

Unfortunately, I received a phone call from the sheriff's department today, giving me the piece of news I didn't want to hear. They found her and Amelia under the ice of the nearby pond.

I hope you two make it. I miss you guys. I know what you mean about the snow at night and the other drivers. I have night blindness, so I wear glasses at night. The lights scar the crap out of me and it's seems like so few people should have a license anyway. I can't believe how many accidents there are near me when the weather is good. I drove my grand daughter to Lathrop last night and man is it dark there, but those headlights were bright coming from the other directions.

OMG!! I hadn't hit submit until just now after checking birds. I didn't know. This is aweful.

Had to cry on that one. OMG! So upsetting. I was really hoping they'd find them in a car somewhere safe but unable to get out or .........IDK. Just not something like this.

Amelia was friends with Sarah's daughters. This isn't going to be easy for them. I've been in the position of having to tell kids about their friends and family.

Walt is there something that can be done at the show for them? Moment of silence? Table set up as a memorial and for donations?

I don't know. I sent an email to Jim Sallee who I think is one of her neighbors. When I get to the show I will ask him about it.............. maybe something at the banquet..........

Sarah/mycutekitties and I are offering to help take the birds to the ranch and care for them if needed. Based on the families needs and wants we will be helping.
