I have 7 of my girls that started laying this week! 2 are pullets and 5 are hens who molted and took the winter off. I am so happy to not have to buy eggs anymore!


This is a weeks worth of eggs minus one my DH ate and one that a scrub jay stole from the coop!

I've stuck every egg into the incubator and it still looks so empty. LOL Nice collection you have there. Hope all my girls start kicking in again soon.

Congrats! I got one egg this week but it was laid outside in the snow and froze.

Thank you for the nice comments on my plate full of eggs! My husband was starting to wonder if having chickens was worth it. I was very happy to send him back to Santa Cruz with a full carton of eggs!

Still commuting huh? That sucks. I used to be nuts when Bill would even send the night in the Bay Area and I'd be out here. I need to make sure I get more lavender egg layers. I think they'd look good with your other eggs.

Yes, unfortunately. It was 5 years on Jan 1.

He does have a job interview in Berkeley on next Monday. Lots of prayers being said that he will get it! Lavender eggs would be a wonderful addition to my egg plate! I'm waiting for my OE to start laying her olive eggs again. They add another color to the variety!
