Sarah/mycutekitties and I are offering to help take the birds to the ranch and care for them if needed. Based on the families needs and wants we will be helping.

That's great Cheryl. They're going to need as much help as they can get and remember, even when something like this happens and people don't ask for the help, it's appreciated when it's done. So many people say to let them know, but either you just can't ask or when you do they don't do it. Nice when people actually offer and are there for them. Really feeling bad for Sarah and the girls right now.

I wasn't a personal friend and so I thought I'd come in and ask if someone close or with good information would post a memorial thread for Karen and Amelia. I'm sure there are a lot of people who know or know of her on here.

This is Karen's son, Michael Anderson.

Unfortunately, I received a phone call from the sheriff's department today, giving me the piece of news I didn't want to hear. They found her and Amelia under the ice of the nearby pond.
What devastating news. Very, very sad.

it is very sad news about Karen and Amelia. Though I did not know her. I have a daughter Amelia's age . It is very hard to even think about what there family is going through.
I did not realize they where so close to me. I am only about 30 miles away.

7 eggs today so far. Things are picking up. Would have been 8, but my Sumatra pen was fighting over one. Stupid birds!!

That's great news. I got an egg today from a new layer. It was soooo dark, I got all excited!
You all have fun at the show today. We are not going to brave the snow and ice on the pass. I'll miss seeing you all the most but I would have loved seeing the dark egg contest too!

Sunny, I never saw one and I talked to Peter several times and he didn't mention one either.
