Cheryl has a lady coming to pick up the BLRW today so that will give me an open pen to move some of the grow pen teenagers into. Not the best day to be spending with chickens but I did all myaprons finished & wrapped & other than a thoroughly trashed house I am in good shape as far as Christmas goes.

Surely you jest....LOL I can now move some of the teenagers to that open pen & let them grow out. I need to sell more so we will see what happens.
 
Pictures of my Platinum Sumatra cockerel today, he's almost 7 months old now.

He normally holds his tail a bit lower, he was agitated because I was practically in the pen with him and his girls, sticking a camera in their face.

Santa brought me this ceramic egg holder today and the girls were kind enough to fill it with eggs!

Production has picked back up, it literally seems like since the Solstice we've been getting a few more eggs each day. It's amazing to me how just a few more minutes of sunlight every day can effect our hens so much.

Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas! DH and I have a house full and were surrounded by lots of music this holiday (whole family is musical) so we have been celebrating the holidays the way we always do and we love it! The run finally has fencing up. Well half up but it's progress and it feels good. Hope you all have a wonderful, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Karen, just wanted to thank you again. I have the pair and the trio in isolation, and the BLRW pullet just went in with the rest of my BLRWs. The rooster is taking care of her, not letting the other hens bully her. The more I look at those Blue Andalusians, the more I like them! I'm going to have a lot of fun with these. Thanks!
