Call duck acting off

I was unable to pick up the calcium gluconate today and don't think I'll be able to get there till morning. Do you think she'll be alright? She seems to be acting a bit better and is quacking more.

How is she doing?
She’s doing quite a bit better tonight. She was running around in the front of the line, letting me move her wings out more, and she protested when I picked her up. She was honking a lot and standing close to normal stance with her head held higher and not close to her body. I’m hoping she is feeling better. :fl 🤞

Thank you everyone for all the help with my wonderful little grey call! It seems she is on the mend. She laid a shelless egg (a yolk with a small bit of soft shelled egg) without my assistance and seems a lot better off now. Her stance and posture are normal now. But she still does not want to open her wings for some reason. She will not open her wings at all. She went to put her wings out and flap them but then hesitated and put them back to her sides. She still won’t fly with the other ducks but she seems a lot better. She is standing normal, honking a lot, and acting like herself again. Do you know what would cause her to hold her wings close to her sides but sometimes drop them low to the ground? She is also still eating, drinking, pooping well. I will get a video of her later today. Thanks again for the advice I’m glad she’s doing better.

Firstly, what great news ! I am usually comforted if the ducky trifecta of eating, drinking and pooping are all good !

Has she got in the pool for a swim yet and is she ok getting in and out ok ?

It would be great to see a vid but it could be lack of confidence after being poorly or she hasnt quite recovered enough to power up the wings ?

What is her diet now ?

@HalfWayUpAMountain Thanks for replying! Yes, she has been in and out of the pool fine. She also jumps up the steps on our deck. She just won’t use her wings or fly to the deck like she usually does. She just won’t open her wings. I will try to post the video later. Her diet now is Purina all flock , with occasional (twice a week) treats such as sometimes peas, ultrakibble, scratch grains, and the occasional watermelon when I have a rind. I do provide crushed oyster shells for my guineas and they have access to it. She is quite the spoiled baby.

What a lovely diet - she is a lucky ducky !

Added positives with the swimming - have you given her the once over around her wings to check for damage ? If you gently extend her wing, does she snatch it back ?

I understand your concern that she isnt how she was before but I hope there is comfort from all these very positive signs.

Thanks dearly! I really try to do what’s best for my ducks. Yes I did check her wings but found nothing. I have gently extended her wing and she doesn’t snatch it back but instead her wings shake if I put them extended from her body. If that makes sense. Yes I am very glad she is showing improvement. I hope she fully recovers. Thanks again for all your help, I appreciate it!

Its absolutely clear you are doing everything possible - she is lucky to have you.

From what you are saying it sounds like there is some muscle weakness - I am not thinking a bigger neurological issue because everything else seems ok.

This might be sorted with time, exercise and good diet. I am wondering if she needs extra supplementation even though she has that awesome diet, especially with her soft egg.

I havent gone back over the whole string - has she had a molt at all ?

Thanks! :hugsThat sounds like it could be a possibility. She seems to be in the process of molting right now as her and my other calls are losing feathers like crazy. My Pekins just finished molting about a week ago.
