Call duck and mallard fighting

These two ducks have started fighting constantly for dominance…mallard and call duck…both have a mate and are paired…they fight but when I separate them they still want to go back together…but a lot of feathers pulled out…see photo…normal? (This was the first summer that they mated). The call duck is incredibly strong…

I never had ducks, due to not being able to provide proper grounds for ducks/waterfowl,,,,,,,,,,,, but I do them.
I don't see an easy solution. Separating works,,, but you mentioned that it is not practical in your situation. Maybe it will shake out on its own after a while.
As long as just some feather loss is not a problem,,, if things escalate further,,, Like open wounds,, You will have to separate for sure.
