Call Duck color breeding question....

If I breed a pure white call duck to a pure snowy call duck what are my color chances?? By pure, I mean no known other colors in either ducks backgrounds....

What an interesting question. According to the Eend calculator you would get mallard. Don't understand how that would work. Can't wait to hear what the experts say.

White call ducks can be hiding a lot under the white. Is your goal to improve type in the snowy???

Yes.. improving the snowy is the goal.. But the whites im thinking of using are from pure white parents who in turn had pure white parents, etc....I have never gotten a NON white baby out of the original set.... Id also like to use some of the pure whites ive got to improve some anacona (magpie'is) call ducks ive got....

I understand that they have been bred white to white for years. Try it and see, and if you end up with surprise colors, oh well.

Maybe find a good snowy breeder or a duck genetics book.

I have pure snowy calls,,and got a pure white this spring from a hatch...thought it was weird!
