(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have raised chickens for 20+ years off and on. I recently moved from CA to VA and now have land so I can have tons more chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Over 100...losing count
(3) What breeds do you have?
BBS and Lavender Amerucanas, Easter Eggers, Lavender Orpingtons
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love hatching...which is why I have so many chickens
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, canning, orcharding (I have a blackberry & elderberry orchard)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Moved to VA from CA 3 years ago. Bought 30 acres in Lawrenceville, VA. Started a blackberry and elderberry orchard with over 500 plants of each now. Will be growing it into a big u-pick fruit farm. Expanding to passionfruit and kiwi. I'm married with 3 dogs and 5 cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've known about BYC for years, back when I lived in CA. I only had about 10 chickens in my small backyard then.
