Hello all,

I am looking for some advice for hatching call ducks - I have hatched before but have many more eggs this time round.

I candled my eggs yesterday to find some internal pips do moved them straight to the hatcher with upped humidity. I have seen now action since and was wondering how long it will be before external pipping, hatch etc before I should give them a hand if necessary.

Any other tips for call hatching also very much appreciated.

cheers,

Phil

Hope everything turned out well Phil. They are generally moved to the hatcher before they pip. Day 25 is when it's a good idea to put them in the hatcher. Can't give advice for helping. I let nature take it's course to weed out the frail ones. It is a very rare occurrence with the ones I have to pip and not hatch. I have always heard if you start helping them then you will end up with having to do a larger percentage each time. Of course we are more likely to damage them if helping than they are pipping their way out.
Have a good day.
