Call Duck Help

thanks for the replies guys, the two calls that I have i hatched myself. I know they where difficult at the time as i had to help them with the air sacks. and thanks for the photos! Il definately know what to look for now. Is there a time of the year they do it though? Thanks

They should start any time. My weather is terribly cold here and dark. They are still doing it. :) They started a month or so ago.
 
Thanks for the info! How many do they lay p/a? Just i only have one female so i dont want to be eating all the eggs if she only lays a few as i want to hatch some more.

Oh yes that is certainly a perk, However my call hen is worth her weight in broodiness! This bird will literally sit on any egg you give her. She actually sat on rocks for a week straight

Actually several people down here use ducks to hatch out there chickens. As long as they don't have access to swimming water during that period it's never seemed to be an issue.

That's interesting. My muscovy has been broody several times this year, and I was afraid that she would do something that would harm chicks if I gave her chicken eggs.
