My 1 year female old call duck started labored breathing. She is breathing out of her mouth hard. There is nothing in her nostrils or throat (that I can see). She has no mucus or watery eyes. The only symptoms are the hard breathing and she sounds like she’s sneezing. I have attached a video of her breathing. Please ignore a little rustling in the background. 🦆 I clean their coop everyday and they have lots of room and fresh air. So ammonia or dust is ruled out. And they have access to a clean man made pond to swim.
There aren’t alot of vets who will see ducks near me, the earliest I could get an apt is Monday and they are 1.5 hours away. If anyone can please help tell me if I can do anything I would greatly appreciate it!

Aw... poor baby. Does she have anything stuck in her throat? I don't know very much about ducks personally, but I'll tag a few people who do

I’m starting to think it’s an infection because her devoted boyfriend, also a call duck, sounds like he is also sneezing a lot. Almost like a sneeze / clearing his throat. Like when they clear their nose. But that’s the only symptoms he has. I ended up separating them together so they aren’t stressed out and I am pretty sure they prob have the same thing.

It definitely looks to me like she's having difficulty breathing, usually heavy breathing is due to being too warm or due to pain, but this is unlike anything I've seen!

If you shine a light through her nares, can you absolutely rule out any blockage? Does she have easy nearby access to water that is deep enough to fully submerge her head, currently?
Sneezing is usually due to dust or some sort of irritation, mallard derived ducks are generally very hardy to illness. What is her tail looking like, is it down, up or resting normally? Sometimes a tail pointing down can be a sign of pain or discomfort, often seen with egg binding.

Is your drake starting to have difficulty breathing, or just sneezing still? Have your checked his nares are clear?
