But keep in mind that if you are having this much trouble finding quality, others are likely to be having the same trouble. So you are already ahead! And I don’t mean to sound critical, but the 4H shows (at least around me) are not normally the extreme cream of the crop. So I think if you find some decent quality, even breeder quality birds, you will do fine in 4H. You can always breed for better quality before you start showing at the big shows by mixing in qualities from others that would compliment any shortcomings that you may start with.

And I’d also say that pictures don’t do these justice many times. I think pics of mine often look bad, but the ducks look so much better in person. Flat pics can be deceiving. Go see them in person if you can.
