Yes and I want to take them to some big shows at some point, but mainly for 4HDid you say these were for 4H?
No, not anymore. I moved to IN last year. That’s awesome! Where are you now? Do you still live in VA?
Ok, cool! No, not anymore. I moved to IN last year.
How many? A pair? They are asking $130 for everything
I whole heartedly applaud you for doing your research and looking for the best possible birds. But keep in mind that if you are having this much trouble finding quality, others are likely to be having the same trouble. So you are already ahead! And I don’t mean to sound critical, but the 4H shows (at least around me) are not normally the extreme cream of the crop. So I think if you find some decent quality, even breeder quality birds, you will do fine in 4H. You can always breed for better quality before you start showing at the big shows by mixing in qualities from others that would compliment any shortcomings that you may start with.Yes and I want to take them to some big shows at some point, but mainly for 4H

And I’d also say that pictures don’t do these justice many times. I think pics of mine often look bad, but the ducks look so much better in person. Flat pics can be deceiving. Go see them in person if you can.
It’s $130 for shipping and the pair! How many? A pair?
@CaliFarmsAR if you are planning on getting a pair from this guy, then ask him for photos of the specific pair that you would receive. This guy is trying to sell me SQ calls… do they look like show quality?
Ok thank you!!@CaliFarmsAR if you are planning on getting a pair from this guy, then ask him for photos of the specific pair that you would receive.
I breed and raise SQ white calls. I purchased a very nice pair from a well known breeder to start out with. My pair was $200.00. It takes a long time to find a nice pair. Showing season will be coming not too long. Lots of breeders bring sale birds to shows.
I’m not trying to be judgemental or talk you out of these birds. They are decent calls.
This call hen definitely has showing potential: (one thing I will point out, is when showing, black on the bill of a white hen is frowned upon) She definitely has good type though. View attachment 3011438
However, these two do not look quality to me. Bear in mind, this is my own personal opinion, but body shape, proportions and bill length are off. I would avoid those. They just don’t have the “type” that is looked for in showing. Are they bad birds? No absolutely not, but if you are serious about showing, I would look for a bird that is more accurate to the showing standards. View attachment 3011441
