Hello everybody, my 5 call ducklings are just a few days shy of a month. I am under the impression it is still a little early to try and sex them accurately but I have a question about colouring. I chose 5 ducklings all very different colours as I am just keeping them as pets or a personal hobby. They are getting in feathers and their adult colours are starting to show. Two are black, with the colouring of a mallard duck, one is going to be entirely white, one is a beautiful grey with brown edging on feathers, and the last is a motley of colours. So far she has brown, white, grey, and black patches appearing.
My question is about the black ducklings. Their black feathers are all showing tinges of green on the edges.People keep telling me this is because they are boys but I am not convinced. I thought they are too young to show male colouring? Is it normal for them to be green?
