Hey everyone! I have recently ordered six hatchery choice call ducklings from purely poultry and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience ordering from them in the past? I am starting to get nervous about shipping them since they are so little! If you have any advice on how to keep them alive and healthy after shipping stress please let me know! I have experience with pekin, khakis, and mallards but never calls! Thank you so much Will post pics as soon as they arrive!
Thank you for tagging me. I have experience with shipped calls. I ordered them from Johnson’s waterfowl. All of them arrived healthy except one. One didn’t make it but the rest are doing great! I ordered six originally. For the first couple of days I put Save-a-chick vitamins in their water and provided b vitamins to the weak duckling. They really weren’t much different from all the other ducklings that I’ve raised. One thing I did have to do was crush up their food more since they were so small. I had good luck with Purina flock raiser. They are now around a month and a half old. They are just wonderful and I couldn’t be happier! You can read about them in my thread “call duck pen ideas” and there were others that ordered from purely poultry as well. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/call-duck-pen-ideas.1354008/
