Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

Turned out to be a black cat. Dogs jumped on it when my husband scared it out of a corner. Gave it a good thrashing before we could get them off it. It crawled up into the top of the barn. Hopefully it moves on. I don't know if it planned to eat a bantam or not, I have read some cats will kill chickens? Don't know whether to leave it be or do something more drastic.

We used to feed strays until our cat went missing last fall. Nothing has been by since and I stopped putting out fresh food.

Good lord....:th
It should move on tonight in the darkness. Cats will hunker down till dark and then move on. Don't think it would take a Chicken. It was after the smell of Birds though..Poor Cat..:frow

So cute. You can give it a mirror and a Teddy to cuddle to so it won't be lonely..It can be on Shavings too now if you want to do that?

It still has a wad of yolk on its bottom so I was waiting for it to dry out a bit more.
I need to figure out where to house him to keep him warm by himself. I think even in the house he’ll need a little lamp since he doesn’t have anyone to snuggle with.

Definitely a heat lamp is needed or it will fail to thrive. It needs a mirror and a teddy to bond with or they just die of loneliness...

The next set should be hatching Sunday. But I will procure him a buddy and a mirror.

Do you think a regular clamp lamp will put off enough to keep him warm in a small space? Or do I need to crank out one of my 250w lamps?

Edited to add/ask: I have a reptile heat pad that goes under the tank, can I use that as long as there is a cooling area available? I used it with my conure babies with good results.
