@MillersFarm ...... The height of their porch is approx 17". This is where the ramp/steps to the duck house will lead to. How big/small should the steps be. Kinda short on bricks but I can build anything with all the pallet wood we have (brought more home today.....)

Here is my last teaser pics before I show the full before and after reveal! I'm super stoked about how this is turning out y'all! Kinda wish I could move in with the duckies!!!:gig:lau

This is the third night in a row we have stayed up until 3-4ish working on the goat pasture/duck pen/duck house/wood shelter.... Running off 4hrs of sleep each night.... How's that song go.... I ain't as young as I once was.....

I couldn't move the Mommas yet..In Blossoms nest I seen another pip yesterday so I'll wait till they hatch out and abandon the nests..Then I'll take the remaining eggs and incubate them..
I'm still confused as to them hatching so soon. I'm positive when I took the 4 eggs that I marked the 8th that was the only nest in that shed..There has to be about 15 or so eggs between both Hens..:idunno
I'm so impressed at how they both share Momma duties and and the Ducklings go back to the right nest with the right Momma..They had them both out of the nests eating yesterday..Then they went right back to setting the rest..:woot..Scary thing is I have two alligators attacking me now instead of one..:th:jumpy:jumpy
I wonder how many will hatch before I have to take the eggs?..Hope they never abandoned the eggs over night?.
The waiting is driving me looney..:tongue
Maybe I will only get the 4 that I put in and the others will hatch later?..I might of interfered too much..:barnie..Now I'm over thinking about this :th

Do they normally abandon the nests before they hatch the eggs?
Unfortunately yes..24 to 48 hours after the first hatches they will abandon the nest to ensure the ones that hatched in that time frame get fed and watered..The hormones change from setting to rearing and protecting the hatched..

Help me figure out how to remove this dead skin off Casanovas Doodle please..:fl
The Vaseline is keeping it moist, although the dead dry skin is preventing it from going back inside him..:th
I wonder if I used a tweezer and gently removed that skin off, if it would be okay to do it?..Thoughts anyone?..
Maybe I need to have another chat with that Vet today?..:idunno..What a crazy beginning to April I'm having..:gig
