They look so fuzzy! Love the feathering!

Just got a reminder in my phone that today is (approximately) my ducks’ birthday!! :wee

I guess we got them around April 6th last year and they were supposedly 3 days old.

How cute, my sweet babies are a year old now. :love
I am glad I am not the only one who put a hatch date in their calendar with a reminder! :ya

Thank you~ :hugs I'm hoping i'll have more duckling pics this week as soon as my calls hatch out
I'd love to add some quail to my flock~ And definitely more calls. Just ordered 24 actually

Very lovely~ I would have made the roof slanted with a slight over-hang.. But that's just my ocd talking. Did you stain the wood on the inside? I love the color of it~ Oh and just an fyi I would maybe lower it a bit or maybe make a staircase out of cinder blocks.. Ducks have a hard time walking up ramps/

Is this your new duck house?

Hahaha.... This is just a sneak peek.... We picked this up as you see it for $40 off of the OfferUp app. In person it WAS quite hideous. Two extremely late nights (or early mornings...?) Later and it doesn't even look like the same building. Completely different color and everything!
Thank you for the tip about ramps. Was thinking of easy small grade steps up to the sun porch we are attaching.
These pics are just a teaser.....

Burning that midnight oil. Have to go and get some more posts tomorrow.... Today? Need 11 more. And maybe more fencing? But we planned it so I can cover the area with PVC hoop style, and net it all so it's a full on aviary. Decided to go with the kiddie pool because we are making it large enough to be able to section off for calls and maybe some mallards or an exotic breed in the future.... Super stoked it's going so well. And I thank the good Lord he gave me a hubby willing to spend some hard earned vacation time indulging my new found duck obsession!

So this all brings me to my question for y'all.... What kind of calls are good to keep for a newbie....? And potentially (if this all goes well...) What kind of exotics can you have in the US....?

Also, smartphone being dumb still or there would be a pic... Shows uploaded but no option to attach it.... Can't wait for my bill cycle to start up so I can have some data....:hit
