Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

Your advice about the training was good. It was even starting to work with her. So I've started training George that way too. I know he really is too small to hurt my big birds. But the babies are defenseless, glad I got him young so hopefully we can avoid a situation like we had with Leila. I do miss her though.

Good morning~ Or afternoon. So things were finally slowing down a bit more, And once i finally felt like I can take a breather things get crazy again. My order of chicks are suppose to come in today but i haven't heard from them since. I did get a call from someone my dad works with, The same girl I got my goat and turkey from. Turns out she got a bot belly pig that's house broken but she can't keep it, I don't know why but this got me really mad. She keeps buying things when she knows she can't keep them and ends up dumping on me because she knows i can't say no. I really don't know what to do though because the one person I bought Dumb-dumb (the pig) from says that the male is ready to be picked up but she also has a runt that isn't growing at all and asked if I could take him, Which I had said yes to. SO now i've got 3 pigs when I only wanted 2 plus the girl who's trying to dumb her pot belly pig on me, Which I have mixed emotions on. I really want to take it in because I know it's probably sleeping in it's own waste in a tiny little crate in her house with a whole bunch of other animals running around in her house living in crappy conditions. And now i've got the guy with the sheep saying he needs to get rid of his sheep soon so he's going to come over and help build a pen for the sheep next week. I've still got to get things set up for the ducks and goslings that are coming in too.. and now i've got to make a separate thing for the little runt pig i'm getting since it's too small to keep with the others.
But anyways i'm just here to chat and forget about that for a little while.
Things are going well with the poultry. I decided to let my call ducks out to forage for a while. Surprisingly they never went through that teenager stage were they want nothing to do with you, They're still supper friendly and love to climb all over you, They like to swarm your feet as soon as you step in their coop (Which is super annoying) And the love to be held? I've never had ducks this friendly before.. Not that i'm complaining~ I took a few pics of them while i sat out watching the lil' duckies foraging so i might as well share some~

Funny how they all seam to go through that stage before the training actually sticks..:gig
I call it the teenager stage. All pups do it to some degree, sometimes it last months or even years for troublemakers. (My Rosie boxer). I don't consider any pups done until we get past that stage. You can tell because they act guilty when doing naughty things instead of just smiling at you and running away. Most pups take until 1-2 years of age before I consider them done. The little dogs are generally easier because they mature quicker.

Hmm? I'll agree to disagree on this topic. :frow

What part, curious?
That it takes 2 years to train them..Mine learn quickly..Bindi has worked really well since a year old and gets better with age of course. Lucy has always done good with trying..Today Poppy needed out but Casanova can't come out so Poor Lucy was confused as to who should stay in so she would not let Poppy out either till I scolded her by saying off. Once Poppy was out Lucy gave her a little chase..:lau
