It looks awesome!!!! You did a fine job!

I've always been good with horses, but your right, it's not for everyone. I must have looked over hundreds of ads and such yesterday. We narrowed down to key attributes I would be looking for such as friendliness, disposition, good form, muscle tone, hoove health, standing for farrier, whether it spooks easy or not, ground manners, training history, background.... All the stuff that should be carefully weighed before taking the plunge. Then we discussed the barn and ceiling height and pasture availability, rotation pastures, exercise ring, possible purchase of a trailer.... I came across three that I want to meet. One I would have to train from the ground up but she is described as quick learning and sweet in nature.... We'll see in person if its so. And the other two are broke. One is green broke and the other is a been-there-done-that in-your-pocket fella. It's still a fresh decision and it will take us about two weeks to get up a new barn and some additional fencing. This isn't romantical for me, it's a passion. I've broke horses, grew up from a little girl caring, grooming, riding, and learning how to feed and clean hooves..... Just never thought I would have one of my very own! Stupid excited right now and waiting for these owners to get in touch with me so we can go meet them!:wee:wee
I even took my mother in law with me. She knows horses and was the one that encouraged me. We think the horse was semi drugged. I don't know though. I think she was a good breeding mare, but not a riding horse.

Hey, so I've got some good news and bad news, Yesterday when I went out to let everyone out of their coops I had noticed that none of my serama roosters were crowing (Which they always do in the morning) So I went to let them out.. All of them had been killed, All but 2 older seramas.. The rest including the 11 chicks were all dead, Either half eaten or with their heads torn off. I think I balled for at least an hour or so? I managed to save the eggs that were under one of my broody seramas and 1 hatched out.. So now all I have are 2 adult seramas and 1 chick. After a while of trying to calm down I managed to contact the person who I got the seramas from, She said that she had 4 hens and 1 rooster she could sell me for $50. So i'm going to go and pick them up at around 11:00
During all of that I decided to go on craigslist to see if anyone else near me was selling seramas, Unfortunately no one close to me was But I did fine another ad that caught my eye.. A Jersey heifer that's due to have a calf on August the 8th.. I bought it. The guy's going to drop her off as soon as I finish her pen and put up the fencing.. I can't wait to go back to having raw milk instead of the store bought kind :wee

That's why I am taking my vet friend with me. Called her this morning and she said no problem and gave me times she could go with us. Plus if it's claimed to be broken the owner should allow the buyer to "test ride" to see how it handles.... Not everyone is honest though. I hate that y'all went through that. I'm looking at a 2yr old paint filly that needs training. This way I know how she has been handled and trained. She has only had a halter and lead line so everything will be from the ground up. A couple others I'm looking at too....

How did he injure it? I hope it's nothing major. I had to help sling a TWH once. Poor gelding hated being confined.
