She is beautiful. She is expected to be stock horse size. Only between 14-15hh. The people who have her are older and are cutting back their herd size so her group is on the cut list. She has been with broodmares and their young, owners say she has a gentle and spirited disposition as she is used to entertaining the foals. Everything they answered for me so far gives me high hopes. Just gotta see if there is that in person connection for me and her and pass a vet check.I really like her colors.
Yay! Will you bring her home before or after she gives birth? On my way to take a look at the cow and pick up a few more seramas right now, I'll post some pics once I'm at the place![]()
Terrible pics. That's why I'm insisting on a vet check. She is 2yrs so still has some growing to do. I'm a bit rusty with training and breaking so I've been researching new techniques that may help and brushing up on my own techniques. Went and talked to a local ranch owner (he is loaning us a trailer), he is willing to help if I need it in exchange for help getting a few of his older pens and exercise rings back in working order. I agree that she could put on a little bit of weight. She should be a bit more filled out. Hoping the vet says it just a change in diet and not a costly medical condition. I don't think they have enough time or ability anymore to give proper care. They sounded like they love her and the others they are cutting but tired and unable to handle the work load. Plus I don't like that her stall isn't bedded properly. Definitely checking her wormload.Best of luck...hmmm?
Darn. Long necked and a bit boney..Bad pictures?..Pretty colours though.
Young horse I assume.

That's one of my main concerns with her. Do you think it could be due to lack of proper diet and exercise? I'm hoping so. I don't think they can support the number of horses they have in their pasture. And she definitely has been low on the totem pole with her current herd.@MatthewsHomestead
Conflicting images..Long tail and mane is an older Horse and the body condition is low..
Yes, and improper care can cause issues in bone growth and other issues in legs etc...Hmmm? We cant save them all ..That's one of my main concerns with her. That's what I'm worried about. Really glad me vet friend is going with us. I have experience yes, but not with horses that have issues. I've worked with horses that have always had proper care, attention, diet etc. And no matter how lovely her spirit or coloring is, I can't take on a problem horse. If it's just diet and proper exercise to get her body condition where it should be, I can handle that. If it's major issues that will require ongoing strenuous vet care and rehabilitation I am totally unprepared for that. It's important and crucial to know and acknowledge what you can and cannot handle. I'm not outfitted for rehabilitation. I do have great pasture. I do have a good temporary stall setup until we finish a dedicated barn. All the basic care and exercise equipment is setup. We will be picking up the last few things we need for a first aide kit this evening..... All in all prepared for a horse. But not an extremely unhealthy one.Yes, and improper care can cause issues in bone growth and other issues in legs etc...Hmmm? We cant save them all ..![]()
