    If you mean for heat, no. They have a shelter filled with hay and straw, and the wind is blocked.

    If you mean for laying, no. I dont use a light to get them to lay. They start themselves around March 10th.

    I have a 25W red bulb over their waterer to keep it from freezing...it is very dim and red so it won't bother them...I've heard they get stressed out by artificial lights so no white lights to make them lay.
