Raising ducks is pretty much the same the world over- feed them, water them , shelter them.. But there really are so many things that are different too. But I love the diversity BYC allows us to discover. Out here we cant put birds in the post, and rarely see any migratory waterfowl. I am loving seeing pics of ducks in the snow and seeing what you guys can buy over there. There will always be birds that are a bargain - or highly sought after show quality one going for what is a huge chunk of a weekly wage where ever we are. There wouldnt be many breeds or colours we have that arent available over there..but for me I love seeing so many anconas and magpies as they are so rare out here I have only seen some in experimental development.

$4000 for a pair?? WOW. You could buy a car for that. Deb..Just think you bought them for $10 each - they still waddle, quack and lay eggs, Im sure you would love them just as much no matter what you paid for them.

You seldom see anything priced that way in this neck of the woods! I have to wonder if the guy knew just what he had?

I would think he did know because he had others for $50 a pair and some for $100 a pair. I got these out of the bargain bin
